Do you want to see the world?

Or are you traveling because of your husband, wife, boyfriend, or girlfriend makes you? Maybe they say something like, “If you love me, you’ll travel with me.” That’s called manipulation, and you may want to reevaluate your relationship and decide if it’s worth it.

Many people, and you may be one of them, think that they have to visit as many countries as they can. The truth is you don’t have to become a savvy world traveler. You can stay in “your own backyard” and live a happy and healthy life.

If the thought of packing for a vacation makes you want to throw up, don’ do it. Just stay home!

Read on to learn why you shouldn’t travel.

These Are the Top Reasons Why You Should Not Travel

Before you give into peer pressure and agree to a group cruise, check out these reasons why should not travel. Not only will you be happier, but your friends and fellow passengers will be as well.

You Don’t Like People

If you don’t like people, you shouldn’t travel because you’ll be miserable. Think about it. If you take a cruise, you’ll find guests everywhere, from the gym to restaurants. If you don’t like kids, this could aggravate you because cruise lines are family friendly.

You Don’t Like Change

Does change scare you? If you still eat the same thing at the same time, travel will frustrate you. Why? Because no matter where you travel, whether it’s in the U.S. or abroad, you’ll be exposed to different foods. If the thought of not eating your favorite cereal for breakfast makes you sad, you won’t like travel.

You Don’t Want to Wait in Lines

When you stand in line, do you “tap your foot?” Even if you pay for a Fast Pass or VIP ticket, you may have to wait in a line because other people have paid for the same thing. It’s like the South Park episode where Eric Cartman buys an amusement park for $1,000,000, so he doesn’t have to stand in lines. It didn’t work out for Eric because the rides broke down and he had to hire people to fix them, which meant he had to let people into the park to cover their salaries. Eric once again had to wait in line to ride the rides.

You Don’t Want to Pack a Suitcase

Does the thought of having to pack make you want to scream? You can’t bring all of your clothes, shoes, and accessories so you may not even know what to bring. Plus, you may have heard the stories of people who end up buying a suitcase to bring home with them because they bought too many souvenirs.

You Don’t Want to Learn and Grow

You’re probably read many quotes about how travel expands your mind and how it can help you to gain confidence. If you don’t like to learn and you don’t want to grow as a person, don’t travel. When you visit another country or area of your country, you can’t help but not learn something new and grow. You may not be the same person. If this frightens you, stay home.

You Don’t Want to Deal with Time Change

If the thought of having to deal with a time change annoys you, you shouldn’t travel. While some people find it fun to call their loved ones in the U.S. from London, England, you may not. You probably wouldn’t want to deal with jet lag either.

You Don’t Want to Spend Money for a Passport and VISA

If you travel abroad, you may need a passport and VISA, and these cost money. You may be extremely frugal and would rather “pinch your pennies” than buying documents that could allow you to travel around the world.

You Don’t Want to Increase Your Carbon Footprint

Do you love the environment? I do, but I still travel. It may seem sacrilege to you. But until we figure out how to teleport ourselves like they did in Star Trek, we have no choice but to travel via airplane, car, ship, or train.

You Don’t Want to Face Conflict

Are you afraid of conflict? It can happen while you travel. For example, the person in the airplane seat next to you may fall asleep and rest their head on your shoulder. Most people would tap the person to wake them up or shrug their shoulder. But since you don’t like conflict, you’d probably suffer in silence.

You Don’t like Germs

If you carry anti-bacterial hand sanitizer with you and have a stockpile of it at home, you shouldn’t travel. Germs are everywhere. In fact, studies have shown that they’re not that bad for you. Why? Because your body can build up a resistance to them and keep you healthy – this isn’t good. See that. Your anti-bacterial soap may not be the best choice after all.

You Don’t Want to Leave Home

Are you a homebody? If so, you shouldn’t travel. Even though the world offers you many opportunities to grow and learn and see and experience sights you may have read about, you may prefer to stay in your city, state, and country.

There you have it – the top reasons why you shouldn’t travel. Don’t allow anyone to force you to do something you don’t want to do. You have your reasons not to travel the world, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Don’t allow anyone to change you. Who are we kidding? You can’t change anyone; you can only change yourself!

Are You Traveling Because Someone Says You Should?

You’ll find many articles on the internet about the “joys of travel,” but you’d probably ‘roll your eyes’ at them.

If the thought of getting out of your comfort zone terrifies you, exploring other states or provinces let alone other countries won’t thrill you.

You’re not a bad person because you don’t like to travel – it’s your preference.

Hey! We’re all individuals and won’t have the same interests. And if all of us like the same things and thought the same way, we wouldn’t make any progress.

The next time your family member, friend, or lover tries to talk you into traveling with them, just say NO! I’m begging you to do the rest of us who love travel a favor – STAY HOME!
